Following the mergers of Davis Langdon and construction management giant Tishman with AECOM, the TBG will have an enviable breadth of knowledge in high rise design, economics and construction.
Headed by tall building specialists, Davis Langdon Director Steve Watts (London) and AECOM Senior Vice President Hamid Adib (New York), the TBG is composed of a number of AECOM business lines and its vision is to establish AECOM as the acknowledged world leader in the field of tall buildings.
It builds upon the solid foundations laid by the Davis Langdon TBG, which was led by Steve Watts from 2005, who commented: “Tall buildings have enjoyed a sustained period of growth since the turn of the century but we are now facing an unprecedented economic environment. Global trends are rightly sharpening the focus on high-rise cost and value drivers, and the new group will enable us to bring together experts in their fields, to respond to these challenges.”
The group is backed by a global CV of over 500 towers including some of the world’s most high profile projects such as the Commerzbank Headquarters in Frankfurt, The Shard at London Bridge, One World Trade Centre in New York, the Shanghai World Finance Centre and Eureka Tower in Melbourne. But whilst this unrivalled experience is brought to bear on projects, and the value of landmark design is appreciated, the group is placing as much emphasis on helping to create tall buildings that are more cost-effective and sustainable, a key part of its current research.
No matter what the nature and scope of the firm’s appointment, it can call upon this knowledge to enhance its service to clients.
