Davis Langdon to Host Three Educational Sessions at Greenbuild 2009

Davis Langdon’s Sustainability group will be presenting three Educational Sessions at this year’s Greenbuild Conference in Phoenix. The annual conference, which will be held on Nov. 11 – 13, will aim “to bring green to everyone, and bring everyone to green”.  Davis Langdon will contribute to this dialogue through each of its presentations.

LEED and Beyond - Expanding Sustainable Master Planning for Higher Education
This presentation will provide an overview for how campuses can utilize the full suite of LEED tools to develop sustainable campus-wide policies and green initiatives that move beyond individual buildings to encompass a holistic view of the entire campus and beyond.

Green and Affordable? A Look at the Cost and Benefits of Greening Affordable Housing in the Pacific Northwest
This session presents the results of a recent study that suggests there are ways to apply robust greening strategies to low income housing without adversely affecting cost. This session highlights the challenges and opportunities, discusses the sustainability measures most projects can and are pursuing at little to no cost, and proposes solutions for ways to achieve greener buildings focused on tenant needs.

Leading the way to successful implementation of City Green Building Ordinances
Davis Langdon will present an overview of two nationally recognized Green Building ordinances for the private sector in order to compare and contrast the various approaches for crafting and implementing these plans in different urban settings.
